Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy, and Rear Admiral Chaksawat Saiwong, Chief of Policy and Planning Office, Operations Department of the Royal Thai Navy, co-chaired the meeting.
They discussed the outcomes of bilateral cooperation over the past year and agreed on future cooperation orientations for 2026, including the 6th bilateral naval consultation to be hosted by Thailand.
The Royal Thai Navy will continue offering training slots at its Naval Command and Staff School to Vietnamese naval officers, and proposed that the Vietnam People’s Navy provide Vietnamese language training for Thai naval officers.
The two sides also discussed a planned visit by a Thai naval ship to Hai Phong city next year to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 – August 6, 2026).
