The system provides real-time data on wind, rainfall, atmospheric pressure and temperature, enabling local authorities and communities to better prepare for natural disasters and extreme weather events.
Residents can access hydro-meteorological data from coastal stations through the project’s information portal (https://ct.vncscc.com).
The VN-CSCC project is funded by the Canadian government through UNDP, with a total budget of over 3.1 million USD. The project has installed seven systems in riverine and coastal communes and wards, including Vinh Phuoc, Vinh Chau, Lai Hoa, Tran De, and Cu Lao Dung.
The project has also conducted community consultations on climate information needs and provided training for officials and residents on environmental monitoring, measuring climate indicators, and assessing carbon stocks in mangrove forests.
