The Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported that in the first week of August, up to 8,000 visitors came to Quang Ninh per day.

Urgent measures have been implemented to enhance visitor safety including upgrading communication equipment for tourist boats, setting up additional six temporary storm shelters on Ha Long Bay, and installing warning systems at key locations, especially on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. The provincial Military Command has deployed a medical ship and two patrol boats to operate on the bay around the clock daily.

Businesses have introduced new products to enhance Quang Ninh’s attraction. Sun Group offers “Lighting up the Wonder Bay” fireworks show every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at Bai Chay tourist area. A Kite Festival and a Boat Racing Festival will be held in September, followed by a Food Festival in October.

This year, Quang Ninh targets to welcome 20 million visitors, including 4.5 million international arrivals.
