As a result, 100% of eligible vessels have been registered, licensed, equipped with vessel monitoring systems (VMS), and fully integrated into the national fisheries management database.
“We have strengthened communication to raise public awareness of responsible fishing practices. Those who fail to comply will need to switch to other livelihoods. We are determined to ensure sustainable and modern fishing activities that meet international standards,” Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Anh Tuan said.
To support job transition, vessel owners and crew members whose boats are no longer eligible for offshore operation will receive a monthly allowance of 120 USD and 30 kilograms of rice per family member.
