(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka held a commemoration this week of the 124th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh called President Ho Chi Minh an outstanding leader, a national liberation hero, and a pre-eminent cultural activist of Vietnam. He was the one who laid the foundation for a Vietnam-Sri Lanka friendship through his visits to Sri Lanka. On this occasion, an award ceremony took place for a knowledge contest about President Ho Chi Minh held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Colombo City’s Library, and the Sri Lanka-Vietnam Solidarity Association. 2 first prizes, 10 consolation prizes, and 160 certificates were presented.
The India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee (IVSC) in West Bengal and the Vietnamese Embassy in India paid a floral tribute at ITC Square to mark the 124th birthday of Ho Chi Minh.
