Netanyahu said earlier that he would convene the cabinet to tell the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) how they should proceed with military operations in Gaza. The IDF controls 75% of the Gaza Strip but has said it doesn’t intend to take over the whole area.
Hamas has dismissed Netanyahu’s threat as “empty” and said it will have no impact on their decisions.
The Israeli military said 120 food aid packages for Gaza's residents were airdropped by six countries – Canada, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Germany and Belgium. Since July 26, when Israel began easing aid restrictions, nine countries have dropped 675 aid packages into Gaza.
