Vietnam deploys armed forces to protect flood-hit people

(VOVWORLD) - In response to heavy rains and severe flooding in Da Nang city, more than 2,600 officers and soldiers, along with 10,000 militia members and reservists under the city’s Military Command, have been deployed to remain on duty at critical sites to evacuate residents, deliver essential goods, and conduct search and rescue operations.

Modern equipment has also been deployed, including 32 automobiles, 20 trucks and bulldozers, 14 motorboats and 8 inflatable boats. A number of drones for terrain observation and identifying isolated areas, ensuring rapid and safe delivery of relief supplies to affected people have also been used.

Da Nang city’s armed forces have provided over 2,500 meals, more than 1,000 packages of essential goods, and one ton of bottled water to patients and medical staff at health facilities heavily impacted by flooding. The armed forces have distributed all available resources and personnel to reach isolated and severely flooded areas to support residents under any circumstances.
