In Hue, torrential rain combined with flood discharges from hydropower reservoirs have pushed river levels higher, resulting in widespread deep flooding. In the city center, 32 of 40 wards and communes have been submerged, with many neighborhoods completely cut off and transportation paralyzed. Hue authorities have mobilized military, police, militia forces, and all available vehicles to urgently relocate residents from danger zones. Overnight, evacuation operations continued nonstop.

In Da Nang, water levels on the Vu Gia and Thu Bồn rivers rose above alarm level 3, triggering extensive flooding across low-lying riverside districts. Local forces, including police, military, and militia, worked throughout the night to move residents to safety.

According to Le Phan Minh, Chairman of Vu Gia commune’s People’s Committee, the local administration has evacuated households severely affected by flooding. “70% of residential areas are underwater, with some homes submerged up to two meters. We relocated residents in advance as planned. On Tuesday night, if water rises above mezzanine floors, we will continue evacuations. The entire commune and former Dai Loc district area are without power,”  said Minh.

Heavy rainfall has caused landslides along the western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Highway and the Truong Son Dong road running through Da Nang and Quang Ngai province. Several sections of the Ho Chi Minh Highway under the La Sơn-Hoa Lien expressway expansion project have also been hit. Five blockages are affecting traffic on both the Ho Chi Minh and East Truong Son routes.

Meanwhile, authorities in Quang Ngai on Monday evacuated 500 people from high-risk zones threatened by landslides and flash floods.
