(VOVWORLD) -The Khanh Hoa province on Thursday began construction of new homes for households whose houses were completely destroyed by natural disasters in Dien Dien commune.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Phong launched "Quang Trung Campaign" by building a house for a household in Tay 2 village, Dien Dien commune, whose house collapsed in the recent flood.

He urged for an urgent plan on supporting the construction and repair of houses and a focus of resources to complete the project on schedule and hand it over to people before Lunar New Year (Tet).

According to Khanh Hoa province’s report, the recent floods have killed 22 people, injured 20 others, completely destroyed 89 houses and severely damaged 294 others.

The newly-launched "Quang Trung Campaign" will promote the spirit of solidarity and mutual love, adding motivation for people to overcome difficulties, have decent residence and improve their lives.
