Trump called the Gaza ceasefire a great victory, adding that they finally made it happen despite many doubts. During his 4-hour visit to Israel, President Trump met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the families of hostages recently released by Hamas.
At the Sharm El Sheikh Summit in Egypt, Trump again declared the Gaza conflict over, and said it’s time to rebuild the region. He praised the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, calling it a “historic deal no one thought possible”. He called for more countries to join the Abraham Accords and normalize relations with Israel.
At the summit, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said Egypt will soon host an international conference to rebuild Gaza and called for global support. After Hamas returns the bodies of deceased hostages to Israel in the coming days, both sides will start talks on Phase Two of the ceasefire in Sharm El Sheikh, mediated by the US, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.
