The Prime Minister stressed the need to soon finalize the draft Resolution on public healthcare, shifting the focus from treatment-centered care to proactive health care and protection, considering it a fundamental, strategic, and long-term objective.
The Prime Minister said people healthcare should be implemented with the two-tier local government model, ensuring equitable access to medical services, especially in remote, isolated, border, island, and ethnic minority regions, promoting preventive medicine and primary healthcare, enhancing the physical well-being of the population, and addressing the challenges of an aging population.
The Prime Minister also called for improving healthcare quality, building digital and smart hospitals, and establishing a clear roadmap toward exempting hospital fees for the public, primarily exempting medical fees for children.
Regarding the draft resolution on advancing education and training, Prime Minister Chinh said the draft resolution should clearly cover general education, vocational training, higher education, and post-graduate studies in order to identify solutions to current bottlenecks, particularly in ensuring equal educational opportunities for people in remote, border, island, and disadvantaged areas.
The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Training with continuing to refine the two draft Resolutions to ensure their quality and effectiveness to submit to the National Assembly for approval. Once approved, the Resolutions are expected to pave the way for the implementation of national target programs on healthcare and education sectors.
