Health care prioritized in Vietnam’s development strategy, says State President

(VOVWORLD) - Ensuring public health remains a priority in Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategy, State President Luong Cuong affirmed at a meeting with a delegation of distinguished medical professionals in Hanoi on Wednesday, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 – 2025).

President Cuong urged the health sector to develop a universal health care system, ensuring that every citizen receives essential medical services.

He called for continued investment in specialized health care, development of central and provincial hospitals, and mastery of advanced medical technologies to elevate Vietnam’s medical standards to an international level.

He stressed the need for accelerating digital transformation, applying information technology to healthcare management and service delivery, and expanding the telemedicine model to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accessibility.

President Cuong awarded the title People's Doctor to 46 outstanding health workers.
