Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed Vietnam’s strategic national goals to become a developed country with upper-middle income by 2030, and to achieve high-income developed status by 2045.

He asked the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission to proactively identify, research, and provide timely advice on complex and pressing issues related to internal affairs, anti-corruption efforts, waste prevention, and judicial reform in alignment with the country’s evolving development demands.

General Secretary To Lam outlined three key orientations for the Commission’s work moving forward.

First, internal affairs must focus on maintaining political and social stability, which is essential for sustainable national development. All Party policies and guidelines, he said, ultimately aim at safeguarding socio-economic stability and improving the quality of life for the people.

Second, internal affairs must effectively support the country’s current and future socio-economic development requirements, ensuring that administrative and judicial processes contribute to national progress.

Third, internal affairs play a vital role in building a clean, strong Party and enhancing the Party's leadership and governance capacity.

Looking ahead to the 14th National Party Congress, the General Secretary called on the Commission to continue strengthening its role in guiding, monitoring, inspecting, and supervising the implementation of the Party’s directives and the State’s laws in internal affairs and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.

Also on May 22, General Secretary To Lam held a separate working session with the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission.
