The National Assembly will consider and comment on several important draft laws, including the amended Penal Code; the Law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Criminal Procedure Code; the Law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on Credit Institutions; the Law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on the Election of National Assembly Deputies and People’s Council Deputies; and the Law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on Enterprises.

In addition, the National Assembly will review and discuss draft Resolutions on piloting several specific mechanisms and policies for social housing development; piloting mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city; reducing value-added tax (VAT); exempting and supporting tuition fees for preschool children, general education students, and those enrolled in general education programs under the national education system; and expanding universal preschool education for children aged 3 to 5.

Notably, the National Assembly will vote to adopt two key Resolutions, including the Resolution on shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021–2026 tenure, and the Resolution on setting the national election day for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure.

During the week, the National Assembly will also deliberate on issues related to the socio-economic development plan, the state budget, the implementation of thrift and anti-waste practices in 2024, and the results of the national gender equality goals in 2024.
