The parties discussed preparations for releasing hostages and exchanging prisoners under US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan.

Egyptian and Qatari mediators are working with both sides to establish a mechanism for the exchange of hostages held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, according to Egypt’s Al Qahera news agency.

A senior US official told Hebrew Channel 12 on Monday that Washington aims to finalize an agreement on its proposal this week, and that US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will remain in Egypt until a deal is reached.
