In a joint statement released by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the ministers expressed full support for efforts by Malaysia, the ASEAN Chair, to mediate the dispute and bring both sides to the negotiating table.

The statement dated July 27 expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation in the border area between Cambodia and Thailand. The ASEAN foreign ministers reaffirmed commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means based on the ASEAN Charter and the United Nations Charter.
