The European Commission says this is a key measure for Vietnam to improve its management capacity and ensure data consistency throughout the entire seafood exploitation-to-consumption chain.

Colonel Cao Anh Son, Deputy Director of Viettel, said the integration of databases serving fishing management has fundamentally been completed, with VNFishbase as the primary database.

“The Ministry of Public Security has collaborated with Viettel to develop and put into operation a port entry and exit management system on the VNeID platform. It allows licensed vessel owners to register online for port entry and exit via VneID,” said Colonel Son.

Now local authorities must ensure strict management to guarantee that information on the system is constantly updated and accurate.
