The election will take place in the context of a new two-tier local government model and newly merged administrative units. These changes have imposed higher demands on leadership, direction and implementation. Localities have completed major legal procedures to prepare for the election.
All are set for general election day
Election Committees at all levels have been established in accordance with regulations, with detailed plans and clear task assignments to ensure that every stage is implemented on schedule and in line with the law.
Personnel work, identified as “the key of keys”, has been carefully prepared by Party committees and organizations. Three rounds of consultation as stipulated by the Election Law have been conducted in a democratic, open, and transparent manner. The candidate list has been balanced across sectors, fields, and regions, ensures fair proportions of female and ethnic minority representatives, and gives priority to young people, intellectuals, workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, artists, and religious dignitaries.
Y Bich Tho, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province, said: “During the consultation process, the Fatherland Front places special emphasis on the qualifications of candidates, while ensuring a reasonable structure of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, and social background. Collecting voters’ opinions and confidence in nominated candidates at places of residence and work is an important task which reflects the people’s will and aspirations.”

Localities are taking steps to ensure security, safety, and social order, increasing the use of information technology in election preparations, and setting up necessary facilities and equipment.
Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and Chairman of the Lam Dong provincial Election Committee, said: “The provincial People’s Council has issued a resolution on spending for election-related activities. We have completed making the seals for Election Committees at all levels while staffing of the election boards and polling teams have promptly established. Digital signatures have been handed over for the management work, reporting, and IT application units. We’re working to prepare other facilities to ensure thrift and efficiency.”
Informing people about the election is a key task. In mountain areas, banners have been hung beside roads and at community cultural houses and offices, and vehicles with loudspeakers have been visiting remote, isolated villages. In Kim Phu commune, Quang Tri province, loudspeakers have proven to be an effective way to deliver election information to residents.
Cao Tien Thanh, head of the Fatherland Front Working Committee of Hamlet 1, Kim Bang village, Kim Phu commune, said: “Each hamlet has its own loudspeaker system to inform people about the election and explain the rights and responsibilities of every citizen. We’re organizing hamlet and community meetings to inform people of the election agenda.”

Public trust enhanced
Final preparations for the election are being completed and, on the eve of this event, many voters have voiced their expectations.
“I hope the election will choose people who have both integrity and talent, who truly care about the people, stay close to the people, understand the customs and daily lives, and can speak up for our community.”
“We will elect deputies who can represent our will and bring our aspirations to the authorities, who will address pressing local issues in socio-economy, transportation, healthcare, and other areas.”
For many young people, casting a ballot for the first time is an important milestone on their journey to adulthood. Tran Duc Anh, a student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said: “I hope the elected deputies will be dedicated and ethical representatives who listen to the people’s opinions, especially those of young people, and can develop practical policies to improve people’s lives. For the younger generation, that represents our future.”
March 15, 2026, will be a day of national pride, demonstrating the Vietnamese people’s will, aspirations, and right to mastery. The election is expected to be a great success and a major contribution to building a State of the people, by the people, and for the people.
