On Sunday, the 6th day of the 1st lunar month, several big festivals opened in Hanoi. At dawn thousands of people gathered at Duc wharf in the Huong Son Scenic Landscape and Historical Complex to board boats to Thien Tru pagoda for the Huong Pagoda Festival.
Le Van Trang, Chairman of the Huong Son communal People’s Committee and chief organizer of the Festival, said, “Huong Son commune has renewed the management and development of high-quality tourism services. We have built a green, clean, beautiful, safe, and civilized environment, refurbished the relic site, and improved our tourism infrastructure and products. Tourism enterprises have trained local officials and residents to deliver tourism services, including public order and safety.”

The Yen Tu Landscape and Historical Complex in Quang Ninh province welcomed an estimated 130,000 pilgrims to the sacred land of Buddhism during the 5-day Tet holiday last week. Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh said the Yen Tu Spring Festival, well-organized on a large scale, reflects the identity of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect and spreads the values of the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage to the public.
A large number of visitors attended a Calligraphy ceremony at Trang Trinh temple at the Special National Relic Site dedicated to scholar Nguyen Binh Khiem in Hai Phong city. The ceremony involved several traditional rites, including a brush, ink stone, and water procession from Kinh Thien Brush Tower, Thien Tao Ink Stone, and Dong Tinh Shrine to the central square.

Nguyen Van Tai, Director of the Public Service Center of Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, said, “The management board serves visitors with dedication and care while implementing “the three no’s”: no parking fees for visitors’ vehicles, no commercial services, and no litter. We regularly remind visitors to comply with site regulations, such as disposing of waste properly and maintaining a civilized lifestyle.”
The Spring Festival at Bai Dinh pagoda in Ninh Binh province, themed “Honoring spirituality with understanding and civility,” opened on Sunday. It’s one of more than 700 festivals that will be held in the province this year.
