The project ensures a stable, continuous and safe power supply for the Con Dao special zone, replacing local diesel generation, reducing electricity production costs, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions, all in line with Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
The project includes a 77 km submarine cable and an 8.5 km underground cable on the island. The cable is buried at a depth of up to 52 meters, the deepest in Vietnam, and becomes the longest 110 kV submarine cable line in Southeast Asia.
The project demonstrates the country’s capability to build large-scale energy infrastructure using advanced technology under challenging offshore conditions.
