The province is focusing on promoting the role of influential individuals, grassroots officials, and Party members of the Khmer ethnic group to strengthen public consensus and unity.
In Song Loc commune, where a large proportion of residents are Khmer, preparations are being carried out appropriate to local conditions. A 25-member election steering committee and a 17-member election committee have been established, and 8 electoral units and 24 polling stations have been set up in compliance with regulations.
A democratic three-step consultation process was conducted, strictly following the prescribed procedure. After the third round of consultations, an official list of candidates for the commune-level People's Council for the 2026-2031 term was announced. 38 candidates will stand for 23 seats, with women comprising 45%, young people 36%, non-Party members 13%, and Khmers 34% of the candidates.
Song Loc has also prepared the necessary infrastructure and venues for voter outreach and election campaigning, with plans to ensure security, safety, and public order throughout the election process.
