Vietnamese and foreign experts and scholars discussed the legal basis, enforcement measures, and challenges in upholding international marine law in practice.

Associate Professor Yoshinobu Takei from the Faculty of Law of Keio University of Japan presented important principles in law enforcement at sea. He said all countries have the obligation to comply with international law to ensure that maritime activities take place safely and transparently.

Participants agreed that law enforcement at sea is not only the responsibility of individual country but also a global issue, requiring multilateral coordination and commitment. Promoting a law-based maritime order is a prerequisite for ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world, they said.
