At a meeting with First Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung called on Greece to continue supporting and urging remaining EU member states to ratify the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and to advocate for the EC to recognize Vietnam’s efforts in combating IUU fishing and soon remove the yellow card on Vietnamese seafood exports.
Ioannis Plakiotakis affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Greece in Southeast Asia and voiced support for the early removal of the IUU yellow card.
Both sides agreed that bilateral relations are developing positively, with trade turnover reaching 580 million USD in 2025.
