The rehearsal, known as Mission A80, was the first full-scale coordinated exercise between the armed forces. It was held to assess the results of ongoing training, identify areas for improvement, and guide units as they prepare for the upcoming parade.
Activities included the display of heavy artillery, vehicles, and equipment from both the army and police.

“The parade will feature submarines, surface ships from the Navy, the Coast Guard, Border Guard, and standing marine militia squadron. Live footage will be broadcast to Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, where the main parade will take place. This parade demonstrates the continuous growth of the people's armed forces over 80 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam,” said General Cuong.
