Speaking at a regular press briefing in Hanoi, Ms. Hang said the occasion also serves as an expression of gratitude for the support and assistance of international friends and progressive forces around the world. Their support played a crucial role in the success of the August Revolution – a pivotal moment that led to the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and inspired national liberation movements in other colonized nations.
“Vietnam wants to join international friends in honoring the enduring values of independence and freedom," said Ms. Hang, "With that in mind, we have invited Defense Ministers from several countries to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, and to send military delegations to participate in the parade. These activities reflect Vietnam’s commitment to friendship, solidarity, and close ties with friendly countries, as well as its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralism, and being a reliable partner to all nations.”
