(VOVWORLD) - President Luong Cuong's visits to Egypt and Angola have boosted comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Africa, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son at a press briefing on Friday, after President Luong Cuong successfully concluded his State visits to the two countries.

He said President Luong Cuong's visits reflected Vietnam’s foreign policy in the new era of elevating relations with key partners in the region such as Egypt and Angola, and delivering Vietnam’s consistent policy to entire Africa.

Africa is home to many of Vietnam’s traditional friends. The 55 member states of the African Union account for more than one-quarter of United Nations membership.

Egypt hosts the headquarters of the Arab League (AL), while Angola currently chairs the African Union (AU).

The Vietnamese President’s visits reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent solidarity with its traditional African friends and contributed to promoting comprehensive cooperation, particularly in diversifying markets and partners to advance national development goals.
