President Cuong, who is paying a working trip to the United States for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-80), described Oregon as a “Silicon Forest” of the United States, a leading center for high technology and renewable energy. Oregon is one of Vietnam’s important partners in promoting cooperation and achieving high and sustainable economic growth, he said.
President Luong Cuong asked Congressman Loc and other members of the delegation to continue supporting the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship, enhancing economic-trade, sci-tech, and innovation cooperation. He called for supporting Vietnam in developing a green economy, semiconductor industry, and training high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of sustainable development and integrating into the global supply chain. He suggested that the Congressman urge the US to soon recognize Vietnam's market economy status and remove Vietnam from the list of countries with restrictions on high-tech exports.
Praising the large and successful Vietnamese community in Oregon state for integrating well into the host society and serving as an effective bridge of friendship between the two countries, the President emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.

The Oregon delegation expressed their strong impression of Vietnam's dynamic development and deep international integration. They voiced support for expanding cooperation with Vietnam, organizing trade promotion programs, academic connections, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as welcoming delegations at all levels from Vietnam to visit Oregon.
