At the meeting with President of the United Nations General Assembly Philemon Yang, Prime Minister Chinh informed about Vietnam’s development strategy and foreign policy. He expressed his hope that Mr. Philemon Yang would continue to support and promote cooperation between the UN and Vietnam, including creating conditions for more Vietnamese to work in UN agencies.
The UN General Assembly president applauded Vietnam's contributions to the UN activities and its respect for the UN Charter. He welcomed Vietnam's active, dynamic role and increasing position and affirmed cooperation with Vietnam to boost compliance with the UN Charter, international law and multilateralism.

The same day, meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam values and supports the UN’s central role in global governance. Vietnam will continue to support multilateralism and international law, contributing to global efforts to promote dialogue and cooperation, and UN reform, he added.
The Prime Minister proposed that the UN continue to support Vietnam in developing marine economy, improving resilience, responding to natural disasters, adapting to climate change and energy transition.
Secretary-General Guterres called Vietnam a model of peace and sustainable development and agreed with Prime Minister Chinh's "all-people, comprehensive" approach in addressing current global issues.
