Vietnam set to welcome 35 million international visitors by 2030

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam intends to welcome 25-28 million international visitors by 2025 and 35 million by 2030, according to a tourism sector plan signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on Thursday.

By 2025, Vietnam hopes to become an attractive destination with a high level of tourism development, and by 2030, a country where tourism is a key economic sector that promotes green growth.

Vietnam intends to develop sustainable tourism tied to environmental protection and effective climate change adaptation. By 2030, all tourist areas, accommodation establishments, and coastal service businesses will have banned single-use plastic products and non-biodegradable plastic bags.

By 2045, tourism will be a major driver of Vietnam’s economy and the country will be a top tourist destination in the Asia-Pacific region. International visitors will total 70 million and tourism revenue will furnish 17-18% of GDP.

According to the development plan, sea and island tourism resources will be fully tapped, high-end beach resorts will develop strong brands in the international market, regional cultural values will be promoted, and Vietnamese heritages will be linked with the heritages of other countries around the world.
