During an online negotiation session with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on a reciprocal trade agreement, Minister Dien welcomed Washington’s proposals to advance the talks. He urged the US to consider areas of interest to Vietnam, including reciprocal tax policies and improved market access for key Vietnamese export items.

The US officials acknowledged Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts to address issues raised by Washington. Greer said these steps would support consideration of a reciprocal tax framework tailored to Vietnam’s specific conditions.

He added that the US Trade Representative Office will soon send the necessary documents to Vietnam to help both sides reach a mutually beneficial outcome.
