The agreement was reached during a recent working visit to Ohio by Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy.
Vietnam is a major exporter of tropical agricultural products such as coffee, cashew nuts, pepper, fruit, and wooden furniture while the US, particularly Ohio, offers temperate goods like soybeans, beef, corn, timber, milk, and dairy products. The new partnership is expected to diversify product offerings, ensure quality and traceable origins, and enhance distribution channels for agricultural and wood products.
Both sides agreed that there is significant potential to deepen agricultural cooperation. During the visit, several Vietnamese companies also explored opportunities to import more timber, fruit, and meat products from Ohio.
