Vietnamese, US businesses sign additional agricultural deals worth 600 million USD

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnamese and Ohio businesses on Wednesday signed agricultural trade cooperation agreements worth 600 million USD as the Vietnamese delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and associations and enterprises are visiting Columbus, Ohio’s capital in the USA.

Ohio is the delegation’s second stop on their working trip to the US this week to explore agricultural cooperation opportunities. Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy, who leads the Vietnamese delegation, met with Ohio Secretary of Agriculture Brian Baldridge. The two sides agreed to make recommendations to their governments on appropriate policies to refrain from tariffs that disrupt the supply chain.

The Vietnamese delegation will travel to Washington D.C. to continue discussing trade and tariff issues.

On Monday, Vietnamese businesses and associations and the US state of Iowa signed five Memorandums of Understanding worth a total of about 800 million USD over three years.

As planned the Vietnamese agricultural business delegation this time will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to purchase agricultural products from the US worth a total of more than 2 billion USD.
