At a plenary session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter, Ambassador Viet said that despite many losses and pains, Vietnam's choice has always been peace, cooperation and reconciliation - values that reflect the core spirit of the UN Charter.
Vietnam calls on the international community to look back at the lessons of history, not to repeat past mistakes and to make joint efforts to fully implement the Charter, for a world of peace, justice and sustainable development for all, he said.
