During talks with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Cairo on Tuesday as part of his State visit to Egypt, President Cuong encouraged stronger bilateral cooperation in emerging and promising fields like green transition, digital transformation, and halal industries.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly expressed his hope that both sides would begin negotiations on a Vietnam–Egypt Free Trade Agreement (FTA). He also welcomed Vietnamese students to study at Al-Azhar University and other institutions in Egypt.

Prime Minister Madbouly said Egypt would send a delegation to attend the signing ceremony of the UN Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, known as Hanoi Convention, scheduled for October in Hanoi.
The same day, President Luong Cuong visited the Gamal Abdel Nasser Museum, an important cultural and historical site dedicated to commemorating the former Egyptian President, one of the most influential political figures in the Arab world in the 20th century. Among the museum’s exhibits is a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, gifted to President Nasser in the early 1960s when diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Egypt were established.
