During talks, the two leaders agreed that defense is one of the pillars of bilateral cooperation and a model motivating cooperation in other sectors. They agreed to enhance delegation exchanges and bilateral ties in defense industry, human resources training, military medicines, and political affairs.
The same day, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, met with the Minister of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.
