Responding to a reporter's question about Israel and Hamas reaching a truce,  the spokesperson said Vietnam applauds the reconciliation efforts of the international community, especially the United Nations and some related countries.

Vietnam calls on the international community to increase humanitarian assistance, including supporting the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), to help the Palestinians soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their life.

In order to achieve sustainable and lasting peace in the region, Vietnam calls on all parties to soon resume the Middle East peace process based on the two-State solution in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions, said the spokesperson.
