The 350 millionth passenger on flight VN1541 from Hanoi to Hue, landing at 9am Wednesday morning, in Phu Bai International Airport, Hue city, was welcomed with a water cannon ceremony – a special aviation ceremony reserved for major milestones.
At the ceremony, Le Hai Binh, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the event coincided with the 65th traditional day of Vietnam Tourism (July 9) in the National Tourism Year 2025.
“Vietnam tourism has bridged Vietnam and the world and promoted the national image, identity and stature globally. When it comes to tourism, it is impossible not to mention the companionship, development, and very special role of the Vietnamese aviation industry, especially Vietnam Airlines. Tourism and aviation have a very close relationship and support each other to thrive. And with the national airline’s delicate efforts and cultural richness, each flight of Vietnam Airlines is not just transportation, not simply a flight, but a place to tell the story of Vietnam, a place to spread Vietnamese cultural identity," Mr, Binh said.
Over the past three decades, from an airline that mainly operated domestically, Vietnam Airlines has now welcomed nearly 18 million international passengers and more than 110 million domestic passengers each year, contributing positively to the overall development of Vietnam's tourism.
At the event, a tourism program "Magical Hue Night - Discover to Love" was launched by Vietnam Airlines, Hue City, and the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
