In making its evaluation, AirlineRatings considers each airline’s incident records in recent years, fleet age, and audits conducted by the governing body of aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and other aviation authorities.

AirlineRatings Editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas said the airline’s operational excellence confirms its brand name in the aviation industry and its customer-centric strategy. He said Vietjet was especially recognised for its massive investment in a new fleet, system upgrades, and technology adoption to ensure operational safety and satisfaction of passenger demands.

This year’s top 10 list also recognized low-cost competitors Ryanair, EasyJet, and Frontier, for their excellent flight safety despite the pandemic.

AirlineRatings has ranked Vietjet at the seven-star level, the world’s highest ranking for aviation safety, for four consecutive years.
