President Trump told reporters, following a meeting with Netanyahu, who is on his fifth visit to the United States, that he hopes to reach phase two of the Gaza peace plan very quickly if Hamas disarms soon.

Hamas’s main armed wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, said they will not disarm until Israeli forces end the occupation and fully withdraw from Gaza. Abu Obeida, the group’s new spokesperson, said Hamas’s weapons are meant to protect the Palestinian people.
