(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung on Monday worked with the People's Committee of Gia Lai province on overcoming the consequences of calamities and the progress of construction and repair of houses for people affected by storms and floods dubbed as the "Quang Trung Campaign".

At the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Dung acknowledged that Gia Lai has basically met the deadlines and requested the province to mobilize maximum resources and  strive to complete construction and repair of houses by January 15, so that the locals can celebrate the Lunar New Year in their new homes.

More than 1,200 military officers and soldiers and 650 police officers and soldiers directly involved in rebuilding and repairing houses in Gia Lai province. To date, 100% of damaged houses have been repaired. Construction has started on 674 new houses and 96% already completed. Just 23 houses are still under construction.
