The New York Declaration, which ensures "unwavering support" for a two-state solution and calls on Israel to commit to a Palestinian state, was released at the closing session of the two-day meeting attended by foreign ministers from over 100 countries.
It calls for a phrased ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, to halt the conflict, ensure a hostage exchange, and withdraw Israeli troops from Gaza. It also advocates reunifying the Gaza strip and the West Bank under Palestinian Authority control and demands that Hamas relinquish power and disarm.
The statement says only a political process can deliver lasting peace and reaffirms support for a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
The statement urges Israel to halt its settlement expansion, end settler violence, and publicly commit to the two-state framework.
Saudi Arabia and France pledged to report on the implementation of the declaration at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in September.
