Discussing future cooperation between the two, Minister Dung said, "We will actively implement the signed agreements and MoUs, as well as the Prime Minister’s directives. Bilateral trade turnover is expected to double to about 30 billion USD by 2030.”

The two sides can promptly carry out major pharmaceutical projects and establish centers for manufacturing and medical research to meet global demand, in addition to other projects like building Lien Chieu port in Da Nang, as well as logistic, oil and gas hubs, and more, he said.

“Prime Minister Chinh has requested working groups to be established to assist Indian businesses to attract more investment from India," Minister Dung added. 

Vietnam-India trade turnover is currently sitting at around 15 billion USD. In 2016, at the G20 Summit in China, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that he considers Vietnam an important partner in the country’s “Act East” strategy. Thus, Minister Dung said, there is still much more room for cooperation between the two.
