"We all have a collective responsibility to use the momentum of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games to make the world around us more inclusive," said International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons. "What a Paralympic legacy this would be, not just for these athletes, but the world’s 1.3 billion persons with disabilities that they represent."
"Beyond 12 days of sport, we must break down the barriers that exist in society,” Parsons added in a closing speech.
The Paralympic flag was lowered and handed over to the United States, the host country of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
A grand art show, the world's largest "electronic music party" captivated the audience. 76-year-old French composer Jean-Michel Jarre opened the extravaganza with an impressive performance, followed by 23 other DJs who created an explosive music party with a smooth combination of sound and light.
France hosted an unexpectedly successful Olympics, the ecstasy returned to the French people and spread the sportsmanship to the whole world.
Team China led the 2024 Paris Paralympics’ medal table with 94 golds, 76 silvers and 50 bronzes. In second place was the United Kingdom with 49 golds, 44 silvers and 31 bronzes. The United States ranked third with 36 golds, 42 silvers and 27 bronzes.
Team Vietnam ranked 79th with one bronze medal belonging to weightlifter Le Van Cong in the men's 49 kg weight class.
