As of Saturday evening, flash floods and landslides left 17 people dead or injured. More than 300 houses and properties were swept away, roads were severely damaged. The Prime Minister visited locals, encouraged them, and shared their losses.
Talking to the search and rescue forces and local authorities, Prime Minister Chinh requested swift actions in arranging funerals for the deceased, treating the injured, and providing accommodation for the affected.
He urged speeding up the damage recovery process, preventing people from being deprived and disease outbreaks after the flood, and repairing roads. Local authorities support people to restore production soon, quickly restore damaged schools to prepare for the new school year, the PM said.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on Sunday visited and presented gifts to flood-affected people and inspected recovery in Chieng So and Huoi Mot, the two communes ravaged by heavy rain and floods from July 26 to August 2 in Son La province.
