The SEA Games is Southeast Asia’s largest sporting event. It reflects the region’s shared values and spirit, and contributes to strengthening the traditional friendship between ASEAN’s member states, PM Chinh said at a send-off ceremony for the athletes.
"In addition to achieving the best results possible, your mission at the upcoming event is to learn from and foster solidarity among the ASEAN community. You must demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship, put on the best possible performance, showcase Vietnam’s sports growth, and spread the image of a friendly, disciplined, civil, and ambitious Vietnam in the new era," PM Chinh said.
This year, Vietnam will compete in 47 categories and sub-categories, with 841 athletes and more than 300 staff members at this year's SEA Games. It aims to be among the top finishers, with 91-110 gold medals.
