Affirming Vietnam's high regard and top priority for its relations with China, General Secretary Trong applauded the positive developments in bilateral relations, especially the outstanding achievements in the 15 years since the two countries established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Noting the important results of the 15th Meeting of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee, which took place on Friday, the Party chief called on the two sides, especially their foreign affairs agencies, to boost cooperation, with a primary focus on high-level exchanges and contacts to create strategic direction for bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's strategic guidelines on continuing to deepen the Vietnam-China partnership. He informed of the common perceptions and outcomes achieved at the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee Meeting.
The Chinese FM urged the two sides to promote practical and effective cooperation in all fields, enhance political trust, and constantly enrich the content of friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.
