(VOV) – The High command of navy zone 5 today visited and presented New Year gifts to soldiers and people on Hon Chuoi island.

It is located in Song Doc town, Ca Mau province and is 35 kilometers from the mainland. Covering an area of more than 1.4 square kilometer, the island is home to 33 households who live mainly on offshore fishing and aquaculture. Le Van Phuong is a local on the island: "Each year, I managed to raise 4 tons of Black King Fish which I earn 200 million VND in profit. Aquaculture has helped improve our living standard. We are preparing meat, vegetables and seafood for Tet. We’re happy to receive the support from the mainland".
