Through modern artistic language, young painters have skillfully conveyed and honored the beauty of Vietnamese folk culture in Dong Ho paintings, Hat Boi art (classical drama) and nursery rhymes associated with the childhood of many generations of Vietnamese people.
Manager of the exhibition Bui Ngoc Xuan said: “All of their inspiration comes largely from the artists’ childhood, because they have been exposed to a lot of cultural stories and ancient folk culture. That is also the main source of inspiration for them to create these collections. Through these works, they hope to help young people more easily access folk culture and better understand it through extremely new and modern expressions.”
The painting exhibition "Folklore in Gen Z" is organized by the Temple of Literature’s Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities and creative enterprise TiredCity.
It’s open to the public until July 31, at the Temple of Literature, Hanoi.
