The event was jointly organised by the ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC), the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Vietnam’s Viglacera Group, and Mizuho Bank with the aim of further attracting Japanese green investment to Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Duc Minh told the conference that green investment is of strategic significance not only for Vietnam but also for the whole region, in the context of the global trends towards sustainable development and greenhouse gas emission reduction. He emphasised Vietnam’s policy on attracting selective foreign investment, targeting high-quality investment with high efficiency, technology and environmental protection.

At the conference, Viglacera Corporation announced the “Thuan Thanh Eco-Smart IP”, a green and smart industrial park in Thuan Thanh town, Bac Ninh province.

Imano Hiroshi, Executive Vice President of THK Corporation, a leading enterprise in manufacturing precision mechanical components in Japan, said: “The first factor that attracts foreign businesses is Vietnam's great development potential. Since more than 10 years ago, when we started investing in Vietnam, we have gradually experienced Vietnam’s incentives. Recently many businesses from China, South Korea, and Japan have invested heavily in Vietnam, because it has greater advantages than other countries in the region. Therefore, we have decided to continue investing in this project.”
