Xi will attend the SCO Summit in Kazakhstan on Tuesday and Wednesday, then visit Tajikistan.
Russia is working to arrange a meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit, where the two leaders will discuss issues of mutual concern.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization established on June 15, 2001, in Shanghai, China. The SCO has eight members: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, and Pakistan.
